Gingerbread Update gets Verizon’s Motorola Droid X. If you own of Verizon’s Droid X then you have been waiting for this news. Finally, Verizon is starting to rolling out the Android Gingerbread Update for Droid X. Members at the DroidXForums have confirmed that a “silent update” (4.5.588.en.US) OTA started rolling out which upgraded the phone to Android Gingerbread 2.3.3 version. We have seen the leaked Official Gingerbread Update for Droid x available to download a few weeks ago. Now with this confirmation it seems Verizon is ready to provide Over the Air Update for Droid X.
Though Verizon spokesman declined: ”We haven’t pushed a software update to the Droid X,” we think the Update may just be an isolated incident or Verizon just not yet ready for the final version of Gingerbread. However, we think the Gingerbread Update is coming real soon. According to the source if you have been modified the software on Droid X, you will have to restore to stock to get the update. If you are still in stock check manually to see if you are lucky to get the Update.
